Sunday, December 17, 2006 Prior to and After Reduction In Weight Pictures This post is in response to a comment I obtained over the weekend.COMMENT: "Why is it that you choose not to create a prior to and after picture?"- Anonymous RESPONSE:You're able to view my current picture in my profile. There's a prior to picture in the intro to my guide. Press the December 2006 Archive link on the web page and scroll nearly to the bottom and you'll see it.My reduction in weight came from a lifestyle change and was not measured on one day to day basis, so I do not have whichever type of side by side comparison (in my underwear) prior to and after picture. Actually, I would not be caught shirtless when I was fat. It's a blog and I am not attempting to sell anything, so I do not have a exceptional section set aside to attempt and make you believe what I am saying. I have been asked by so a lot of the community how I lost the weight, so I place it in writing so anybody can read it and maybe discover something; or better still, get motivated.I update the site for the reason that it's starting to develop into hobby and it keeps me actively learning about maintaining great health. It also has taught me most about blogging.Like a lot other bloggers, I put up several ads to assist shell out for my monthly hosting, however trust me, the 10 cents (or lower) one day I make comes nowhere near covering the hosting bill.My posts are original and many what I explain is common sense, to allow you to choose to have faith in me or not, however I have not a thing to do gain or lose either way. posted by MM @ 7:14 PM 0 Comments Thursday, December 14, 2006 Fitness Calculators I was on a forum tonight and came across this link. It has helpful and enjoyment calculators to assist measure many diet and physical health related aspects. I have seen plenty of physical health calculator sites prior to, however this one seems to cover the the majority of ground on one site.http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calculators.htm Labels: Fitness Calculators posted by MM @ 7:56 PM 0 Comments Wednesday, December 13, 2006 Techniques to Eat Less/ Portion Control As everybody knows, eat less and you'll lose more weight. One of my biggest difficulties while I was eliminating weight was portion control. I would always heard most about portion control, however I never truly knew the way to manage my portions and not even now be hungry once I was finished eating. Over time, I slowly transformed my eating habits and began to realize I was truly in charge of my portions. Recently I had been slipping and eating a little too much, so I had the belief that I would share a number of things I do to manage and handle my portions and eat just what I must satisfy my hunger. This is promised to help me make these practices more a part of my life again and hopefully assist anybody who reads them discover a thing or 2.Purchase using your brain, not using your hunger...This goes for eating out and when creating a meal or snack at your own residence. Many the time you hear individuals purchase or make too much food and say "I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach!" For a lot of these individuals, that is where it ends. They stop eating when they are full and that is that. For somebody whose loves food as much as I do, when I run into this dilemma, I usually eat until the plate is clear, or I physically cannot eat another bite. This happens to me whether I am on a food eating plan or not. Like the majority of individuals, I really adore the taste of food and it's hard for me to know precisely when I am full until about 10 minutes after I am finished stuffing my face.I found that by putting hunger aside and ordering or planning my meal with my brain rather than my taste buds and growling belly, this becomes simple to control. When doing this, it's always better to purchase or make under it's to purchase or make more. If I think I desire 2 sandwiches, and I just make one, by the time I finish that sandwich and receive up to create another one, I'll know whether I am full or not. If the're 2 sandwiches in front of me, I am about to knock them both out prior to my fullness even catches up with my brain.Exercise prior to, not after...Amongst exception of breakfast, you ought to always do your exercises prior to a meal as opposed to after. I do not know the science behind this, however all I know is when I am done exercising, I feel this sense of progress and I do not desire to mess it up by eating too much or having an awful meal. Besides that, my body also craves certain nutrients and it physically feels great to consume healthier foods. One other thing that I notice is that my stomach feels somewhat full after exercising, however this could be in my head. One of the motivators which could assist your eating habits right after an exercise is momentum. When I was eliminating weight, the more progress I created, the more I felt I needed to stay with my plan for the reason that the gap was closing between my current health and my goal. If you break this down, you may utilize this momentum after a workout. You only did one healthy activity, immediately you're in the position to either double the impact by eating healthy, or cancel it out by eating poorly. Exercising then avoiding guilt by eating healthy is plenty superior than eating poorly then feeling guilty and exercising. The last benefit, most certainly is that by working out on an empty stomach, your body shall be stuck burning stored fat for energy. **Do not skip breakfast though! I covered the reason for that in my user guide, so read the eating section if you could do with more info.Drink many 0 calorie beverage using your meal...I prefer diet coke, however I have had individuals go crazy on me regarding the effects of artificial sweeteners. I am not going to let you know what to drink here, however unsweetened iced tea and water work good for this. When I am eating a meal, I have trained myself to drink many calorie free liquid so I become full faster. You do not need to drown yourself, however any space you fill in your belly helps to ease your hunger (at least temporarily, until you're able to aquire away from the food).Eat slower, if you are a following meal. The consequences of not eating on time usually catch up with you at dinner. If you eat lunch too late, you will not be hungry for dinner until later in the evening. The More time you need to digest your food prior to you go to bed, the better, however eating too early can also be bad. If you eat lunch too early and finish up having an early dinner, it makes it truly simple to desire to snack later in the evening, even right prior to bed. These are only a handful of the tricks that have worked to manage and handle my eating in one way or another. If you've any other helpful techniques, feel free to share them in the comments. I'd like to hear! posted by MM @ 10:39 AM 0 Comments Monday, December 11, 2006 Healthy choices are plentiful... Although my mom and I've closed our bakery, I even now get rather a bit of industry publications mailed or e mailed to me. Today, I obtained an e mail about a healthy baking seminar coming up and it looks like the food industry is being encouraged to make and promote healthy choices immediately more than ever prior to! And by the looks of the contents of the e mail, it must be working:"As somebody involved in the baking industry, you know superior than anybody that 2006 has seen healthful foods continue to grow in popularity and acceptance in the United States as evidenced by sales figures and media coverage. In an extremely brief period of time, the commercial bread aisle changed dramatically to include countless whole grain varieties, English Muffins, bagels, and other new items. In the cookie aisles, whole grains also have created good strides. And, it’s not only whole grains. Functional ingredients and nutraceuticals continue to grow in popularity and are finding their ways into more and more bakery foods."Healthful bakery foods are stronger than ever, from in-store bakeries to the commercial bread aisles, and from retail bakeries to commercial and non-commercial foodservice establishments."This is great news for many unhealthy individuals. Americans as a whole are finally starting to relize the undeniable consequences of every one of the terrible things we eat. This is forcing the food industry (including convenience food) to begin to diversify their offerings if they desire to keep many their clients. The movement that we're currently a part of will eventually make it most easier to become and stay healthy! I am definitely looking ahead to seeing where it takes us. For a number of reason, I'm able to't eat only one! I tried to maintain them out of the house for awhile, however the other day at the grocery store, I noticed Quaker Chewy REDUCED FAT chocolate chunk granola bars! With only 2 grams of fat, 90 calories, and 90% of the deliciousness of the regular ones, they're definitely worth snacking on. I also found that the trick to not eating more than one is to have your water or milk prepared to go and drink it as quickly as your done. This'll wash the addicting taste out of your mouth! They also come in a reduced calorie version with less sugar if that is all you are worried about.
